Braner/Loopco has received an order from Metals USA, a subsidiary of Reliance Steel & Aluminum, for a precision multiblanker system. The system will convert 30-ton by 72-in.-wide stainless, aluminum, and high-strength carbon steel coils in gauges from 0.020 through 0.250 in. into precision multiblanks and pattern sheet sizes. Coil mechanical properties will range to 100,000 PSI.

The line includes a TorqueMaster leveler with 17 independent drive motors, computerized hydraulic backup positioning, and two quick-change cassettes. The quick-change injector turret slitter retools and exchanges heads in minutes. A precision servo roll feed and bow-tie shear will combine to generate precise square sheets and blanks, reports the company.

Other features include top and bottom PVC; interleaved paper disposal; scrap chopper; automatic skid injection; on-the-fly, hands-free cropped scrap disposal; on-the-fly visual surface inspection; and a full diagnostic, automation, and safety array.
